I’ve been thinking about the Reading and Responding assignment, where I need to read and analyse a piece of text and represent it visually. For this I’ve been considering trying my hand at typography.
I love Marian Bantjes’ work because she really understands the forms of the words she uses, taking notice of the curvature of many of the letters and taking advantage of this curvature, manipulating them very well. I particularly like the heart as it is the shape which catches your attention first, then you look more closely and realize the type.
